A shelving unit is multifunctional; you can use it to display the most beautiful home accessories while also storing items. It's a win-win situation!
Additionally, the shelving unit is a good space-filling piece of furniture for your interior, which you can also stylishly decorate with eye-catchers to your own taste.

However, it is sometimes difficult to style the right home accessories and colors together in your shelving unit. So, if you want a well-coordinated and organized shelving unit, read on!
Before you start decorating your shelving unit, decide which color palette you want to use. Do you like color? Then let your color palette for the cabinet consist of, for example, pink, yellow, and orange.
Are you more into calm colors? Then choose a color palette of beige, black, and white. My own shelving unit is also decorated in this color palette, and I am still incredibly happy with it to this day.
Once you have determined your color palette, it's time to gather your home accessories. When decorating your shelving unit, it is important to consider different heights and numbers. This ensures that your home decor stands out better in your interior and also creates depth.
So, which home accessories should you choose?
Choose a beautiful set of hurricane lamps, as I did in my cabinet. You can see that the set I have consists of three hurricane lamps of different heights. Put a candle in them, and in the dark, your shelving unit will also exude a lot of atmosphere.
It's also nice to use different materials in your shelving unit; for example, I used shell collars on stands. Shell collars are handmade items, made from shells from Indonesia. So they are truly unique items.
I also placed offering baskets in my cabinet; the offering baskets I have are large. This fills my shelving unit beautifully and creates a calming atmosphere. The offering baskets also come from Indonesia, so these are items with a story as well.
Furthermore, you can also add a tray to your shelving unit, which I have done. I used a beige tray and placed two chic tealight holders on it. The beige color breaks up the black compartment, and the tealight holders are beautifully showcased!
Then you could also add a beautiful vase with silk flowers to your shelving unit. This doesn't fit in my own cabinet, but if you have a shelving unit with higher compartments, this is definitely recommended. Place a narrow, tall vase in your cabinet, and put, for example, two or three silk blossom branches or a calm green silk branch in it.
Make sure you don't choose too many small items, but create a nice mix of large and smaller items. This ensures that the overall look of the cabinet is cohesive.
